Big news, Guardians – starting today, you can now play Gotchi Guardians directly within your browser! No more downloading clunky launchers or worrying that the game will hijack your PC – simply visit the official Gotchi Guardians website and start playing within minutes.
(We made a team decision to take the standalone version + launcher out behind the woodshed and end its misery, at least for now. But it will be back in the future!)
Before you keep reading this post, visit Gotchi Guardians and start loading the browser version.
Then come back here to see everything else that’s new in this big update!
Lookin’ sharp, Gotchigang!
Gotchi Guardians now officially supports loading onchain Aavegotchis as skins. They don’t actually do anything, but they look super cool, and your opponents will surely be envious of your sick fit.
To select your onchain Aavegotchi skin, simply open the Guardians selector and cycle through the choices. It may take several seconds to load the skin.
Note: Onchain Aavegotchis are just skins for Guardians. They do not affect tech tree progression or skills.
Based G-Bucks
G-Bucks, the in-game currency of Gotchi Guardians, can now be purchased with $GHST tokens on Base, the future home of Aavegotchi.
Coinbase recently enabled deposits and withdrawals of GHST between Coinbase and Base, making this addition especially ebic.
To purchase, first top up your Aavegotchi Player Profile with GHST, and then visit the Gotchi Guardians shop to make it rain. We are working to simplify this flow even further. Stay tuned!
In addition to purchasing with crypto, you can also top up your G-Bucks via credit card purchase using our new partner, Xsolla.

Spectator Mode
You can now join Custom Lobbies as a Spectator, and observe the battle from a safe distance. We definitely won’t judge you… (coward!)
New ATH for Balance
This release is chock full of balance patches and minor fixes. For the full list of changes, check the official Patch Notes over on the Gotchi Guardians Notion page.
Earn GHST – Show Us Your Clips!
Gotchi Guardians is an amazing game – and we want to see you play!
To celebrate this release, we’re kicking off a new pilot program – Show Us Your Clips!
How it works:
Simply stream or record your games and send us your highlights and favorite clips. Submitted clips should be a maximum of 60 seconds long.
We’ll publish our favorite clips on the Gotchi Guardians or Aavegotchi X accounts and YouTube. If we publish your clip, we’ll send you a GHST bounty, ranging from 100 - 1000 GHST, depending on the following factors:
- WOW Factor. How exciting was your clip to watch?
- Novelty. How new / interesting was your clip?
- Effort. How much effort did it take to create this clip?
- Engagement. Bonus points if the clip blows up on socials!
You are also free to post the clips on socials yourself, and if we RT you’ll also be eligible for the bounty.
This is a pilot program so we’ll likely be fine-tuning things as we go.
Don’t think too much – just show us your clips!
Submit your clips now through the official Typeform: https://aavegotchi.typeform.com/clips
