We're excited to announce the upcoming tournaments for Rarity Farming Season 8, featuring a massive 150,000 GHST prize pool, as well as new updates to give you even more ways to strategize and compete with your ghostly besties.
This season introduces double-elimination tournaments, the ability to have two substitutes per team, and a preparation phase between each round for strategic adjustments. Whether you're a seasoned battler or a fresh contender, this season offers the perfect stage to showcase your skills and claim your share of the epic prize pools.
Tournament Schedule
Please note:
- All times are in UTC
- Round 1 for each tournament will be 12 hours after registration closes
- Each subsequent round will be 12 hours after the previous round ends
- Times of all rounds will be shown shortly after registration closes
10K GHST Tournament
Registration open 17th June 2PM - 24th June 2PM
40K GHST Tournament
Registration open 1st July 2PM - 8th July 2PM
100K GHST Tournament
Registration open 15th July 2PM - 22nd July 2PM
How to enter
To enter the tournament, simply click on the tournament you want to join on the Gotchi Battler website and click the "Create Team" button. This will take you to the team creation page where you select 5 Gotchis to form your team plus an optional 2 substitutes. Choose which Gotchi is your leader and which formation you want to use. Once you're happy with your team, click "Save Team" and you're all set!
Gotchi Renting
Don't have the Gotchis you need to compete? No problem! You can rent Gotchis from the Gotchi Battler website.
Simply click the all new "Gotchi Lending" tab within a tournament and view a list of all Gotchis available to rent that are eligible for that tournament.
Gotchi Lending
If you have Gotchis you're not using, you can lend them out to other players and earn GHST in return. Put your Gotchis out to rent using the official Aavegotchi dapp and earn passive income while helping other players compete in the tournaments. Here are some tips when lending out your Gotchis:
- Make sure to set the Lending Duration to 168 hours (7 days) to cover the registration period. This gives the renter the confidence that wearables won't be changed before the tournament starts. If your Lending period is too short, then a warning message will be displayed to the renter and they may choose not to rent your Gotchi.
- Set the upfront cost based on the BRS of your Gotchi and the prize pool of the tournament. The higher the BRS and prize pool, the higher the upfront cost you can charge.
New features for Season 8
Double Elimination Tournaments
This season we're introducing double elimination tournaments. This means that you'll have two chances to compete before being eliminated from the tournament. If you lose a match, you'll be moved to the losers bracket where you'll have another chance to fight your way back to the top. This new format adds an extra layer of strategy and excitement to the tournaments.
Substitutes
In Season 8, you'll be able to have two substitutes per team. Substitutes are Gotchis that you can swap in and out of your team between rounds. This gives you more flexibility to adapt to your opponent's team and strategy, and can be a game changer in the heat of battle.
Preparation Phase
Between each round of the tournament, there will be a preparation phase where you can adjust your team and strategy. During this phase, you can swap out Gotchis for your substitutes, change your leader, and adjust your formation. This gives you the opportunity to adapt to your opponent's team and make strategic changes to give you the best chance of victory.
