Gaming guilds have become an integral part of the play-to-earn economy. Large gameFi focused guilds bring experienced players to play-to-earn games helping grow user bases, profit generation, and marketability while also allowing people, who may not have had the means otherwise, the ability to use in-game NFT assets to earn money. Guilds are active in many popular play-to-earn games, but until now no game has been custom built with Guilds in mind. Aavegotchi’s Gotchiverse changes that with a number of game mechanics and opportunities tailored specifically to guilds and their members.
What Can Aavegotchi Guilds Do in the Gotchiverse?
There are multiple opportunities for Guilds to succeed in the Gotchiverse. The most obvious is through the use of the Gotchi Lending program. Gotchi Lending is Aavegotchi’s improvement on the traditional scholarship model made popular by other play-to-earn games like Axie Infinity. Aavegotchi’s scalability solution improves on the scholarship program by removing the middleman and keeping the entire process 100% on-chain. This allows guilds and their members to reap the benefits of trustless execution and on-chain security. With Aavegotchi, no player or guild will have to rely on good faith alone when lending or borrowing Aavegotchi NFT assets. The lender simply sets the terms of the agreement, including the split of Gotchus Alchemica and the length of time to lend their asset. Once the lending period concludes, the Aavegotchi NFT is automatically returned to its rightful owner along with the agreed upon split of Alchemica.
What does this mean for Guilds?
Gotchi Lending will allow guilds to trustlessly and securely lend their Aavegotchi NFT assets to their members or players. This allows guilds the opportunity to earn passively and allows gamers the ability to play-to-earn in the Gotchiverse with no upfront cost. It’s a win-win in the most literal way possible.
In addition to Gotchi Lending, guilds can take advantage of their numbers to earn Gotchus Alchemica much quicker in the Gotchiverse. Gotchus Alchemica are four new ERC20 tokens that act as the elements of the Gotchiverse and can be earned in three distinct ways. Communal Channeling specifically, will allow guilds to earn Alchemica at a much faster rate allowing Aavegotchis to work together when a Gotchi Lodge installation has been built on a Gotchiverse REALM parcel. In order to participate in Communal Channeling, each Aavegotchi must wear the associated insignia Wearable and be present on the land parcel during the ritual. Alchemica will be farmed more quickly for each additional Aavegotchi participating in the Communal Channeling.
Another way guilds can gain an edge in the Gotchiverse is through the placement of their Gotchiverse REALM parcels. Guild members can purchase parcels in specific districts or areas allowing for localization of guild activities and planning. This offers a number of benefits such as estaate building, increased foot traffic, guild recognition, and opportunities for coordination. Some guilds have already utilized this strategy during previous Land Sales, as you can see on the map below.
Many guilds already have big plans for the Gotchiverse. Jarrod from WAGMI Warriors offered his perspective, saying “Our main focus at launch will be on growing our Gotchus Alchemica through scheduled Communal Channeling sessions focusing on our primary district 18 and secondary districts 19 and 10. We also have plans to place burger stands on our lands as NPCs as Dapps and building some infrastructure for guilds around connecting gotchi lenders and gotchi renters.”
Starting an Aavegotchi Guild
A question I often see asked in the Aavegotchi Discord server is: “How can I start a guild?” Starting an Aavegotchi guild is simple. All you need to do is let people know that you’re starting one! A few basic recommendations include creating a Twitter account, starting a Discord server, and being active in the Aavegotchi community.
Why would I want to start a guild?
There are a number of reasons you may want to start an Aavegotchi guild. Maybe you want to increase your earning potential through Communal Channeling. Maybe you have a lot of Aavegotchis and want to take advantage of Gotchi Lending, or maybe you simply want a like-minded group of frens to play with.
Gotchinomics from Ghost Squad offered a unique look at why he decided to start a guild; “After months of being active members of the #GotchiGang, ambassadors, helping with translations, creating mini-games, video animations, and seeing a great upside potential for building something really fun, we decided to take it a step further by founding the Ghost Squad.”
Starting and managing a guild isn’t for everyone., Joining one that’s already been established is a great alternative.
Why Should You Join an Aavegotchi Guild?
Maybe you don’t have the time or desire to start your own Aavegotchi guild and prefer to join one instead. There are a number of reasons to join a guild, but it ultimately depends on your playstyle and goals in the Gotchiverse. The Gotchiverse is a blockchain RPG with several social elements. Although you can play the game solo, playing with your frens will make for an amazing metaverse experience.
Joining a guild is a great way to engage in the social aspect of the Gotchiverse, while also increasing your play-to-earn potential! The Gotchiverse will feature tradeable installation NFTs that players can build directly on their land parcels. One of these installation NFTs is known as the Gotchi Lodge. The Gotchi Lodge acts as the social hub of a parcel and will have the ability to be upgraded to support voice chat. Aavegotchi’s can link to a Gotchi Lodge, while wearing a designated Guild insignia, to engage in the previously mentioned communal channeling.
Certain guilds may also give you access to their Aavegotchis as a borrower, or to other guild members as a lender. Some guilds will use the Gotchi lending program to lend their Aavegotchi NFTs exclusively to other guild members. Joining these guilds can potentially grant you access to exclusive Aavegotchis that you couldn’t use otherwise, as well as a steady user base through which to lend out your own.
I asked Lord Hillz of the Order of the Portal Mages what he and his guild were most looking forward to in the Gotchiverse. Lord Hillz responded, “We have a very active guild so we’re looking forward to hosting many rituals for communal channeling. Our guild has spent the last several months building an incredible community. We’re always making new friends and we can’t wait to hangout with everyone in the Gotchiverse. I can only imagine what epic adventures are in store for the Mages.”
